Become The Pack Leader

I'm The Pack Leader

Of all the questions that people ask “how to become the pack leader” is the big one! This is by far the most important question how to convince your dog that you are the person in charge. Think of the pack leader as the decision maker - where you should go on the walk, how to behave in different situations and how to respond to all the strange things that are out there.

When you understand how dogs packs work you soon realize the importance, that pack leader makes all the decisions. If you leave it up to your dog then there a big chance that your dog is going to get something’s very wrong and make a mistake!

In order to understand how to become the pack leader you must first recognize that the following means nothing to a #dog….

What car you drive, the size of your house, the money you earn or the fact that you speak languages! Your dog would happily swap all of that for a nice snack!

Asking your dog to sit before her dinner falls a long way short of what you need to be achieving to become the pack leader and walking through doorways is only necessary when your dog is on the lead.

Lastly - dominating your dog is certainly not the way to become the pack leader in fact this can back fire badly on you later on if you teach your dog that physical strength is what it is all about. Whilst you may force your dog into submission it will not be convincing your dogs mind that you are worthy of the position and that you should become the pack leader only that you are a bit of a bully.

So how do you become the pack leader? All dogs worldwide, regardless of breed use the same ways to check to establish the pack leader. The best way to learn about how to put it into practice is to watch it being done on video as I have done through one of the video based web sites. The important areas to take control in are the following:

The pack leader will be in total calm control when your dog barks and alerts you to danger. This includes anything that your dog may perceive as dangerous and barks at in and around the property

On the walk your dog should not pull you at a single stage, even the beginning! Learning to walk your dog properly can only really be learnt through video as I have found out!
If you are the pack leader then your dog should be able to relax and switch off completely inside the house. If your dog is always switched on most of the time and can’t relax then that is your dog on pack leader duty!
Getting your dog to switch off is directly connected to how you meet and greet your dog after your return home. You need to watch it on video it is so subtle but it is the difference between being the pack leader or the follower.
Lastly, feeding your dog correctly will establish who is the pack leader and there is much more to it than asking your dog to sit! Also if you have a dog that is “not food motivated” then you may be in for a surprise!
There is one site that shows you – using video – exactly how to become the pack leader and how crucial it is to changing any behavioral issue.

Turn Your Puppy Into The Perfect Dog.

There is a lot of conversation of how to raise the perfect dog

It can be a very difficult question but we have to ask ourselves… does the perfect dog exist?

I guess the answer is a little like… does a perfect person as well?
You know as well as I do the answer to both of the above questions...… Nope!

However there are a lot of pretty awesome and smart folks people out there, as well as some really amazing dogs too.  So how do I get the trick? (for the perfect dog, not sure about the perfect people, LOL)

I have some really good suggestion that have worked for me. Please do not get  hung up on getting your pup into puppy school and learning lots of the trick that most of the schools are teaching, like high-fives, roly-polies, commando crawl but you need ask yourself this… Is this all my dream dog does?

Is my dream dog being just a circus monkey performing for your friends and family telling them, "Look what Fido can do" and they will usually say “Wow that is cool, his so smart isn't  he…What did you do to train him to do that…” and then the old there you go so on and so forth. (But you have to ask yourself if you want them to say the same stuff about how you trained your kids and shown off like that?)

In many of these these cases  the dog owner is telling his/her is to warn his visitors about stuff that seems to have gotten out on your control. (Like the following)

“Now…don’t got close to him when he’s eating, and do not pat him not to the head and please watch your children and make sure the kids do not try to take his toys away from him..!”

Pretty crazy isn’t it? (after all the cool stuff he can do)
Owners spend lots of time focusing on how to the funny cool stuff like the commands mentioned above and like sit and stay but we don't really worry about the important stuff that but lot many time it too late to get that stuff back after a dog has gotten a little older.

Would you like to know why this is so?

Many dog trainer do the exact thing as the other cause it's what everyone else is doing.... kinda like the old adage, we in sociality act like sheep following each other and no ones ever asks.... WHY?

Just give it some thought… have you ever had to put your dog down? (yes, I am talking about euthanized, not cause they would not sit or stay) and some people actually do, Or maybe because there do not response to our command quietly, Or cause they just way not stay.  (these are questions to consider)

Of course putting a dog down is not a good answer and I would definitely not recommended it in any fashion…. WHY are folks so cruel?

But… Violence? Oh My.

So Many dogs are put down for being to aggression, growling, barking and I believe it caused by owner not taking the proper suggestions and there are other reason like being to aggressive towards children, owners, strangers – this is not good news.

Nothing more scary and dangerous than a dog that has become out of control, when your walking your dog walks you instead of you walking him, and when you let him off the leash he dont not listen and runs out of control. Most people don't think about the danger of his soundings like around cars and other dogs. There are very few dog trainers that will train the owners how to stop this type of behavior, and few of todays trainer actually understand themselves!

Most of folks have an ideal of the perfect dog, and the 5 behaviors are as follows, but in no particular order:

1. Get along with other dogs and all other animals
2. People friendly especially around children
3. Relaxed and obedient around the home
4. Coming when called at a park or other public places
5. Being Obedience when walking on the leash in public

Hhmmm WOW… I can hear you thinking and wanting to ask! "How do I do these thats?"….if your asking this question to yourself I do believe you got the point!

Now there is great news and that is that it is not very complicated, or should I say not complicated or tricky anymore… all thanks to Doggy Dan’s The Online
